  1.                      HEALING THROUGH CHRIST #3
  2. Foundation Texts:  Hebrews 13:8, Acts 10:38, John 10:10, James 4:7

  4.      #1   Recognise that Jesus is Our Healer because He is the
  5.           same yesterday, today and forever.  Hebrews 13:8
  6.           Physical healing is still a part of Christ's ministry
  7.           today. 1 Peter 2:24
  8.  
  9.      #2   To receive healing through Christ, you must know that it
  10.           is His will for you to be healed.  Acts 10:38, ROM.
  11.           10:17, 1 John 5:14
  12.  
  13.      #3    RECOGNISE  YOUR  ENEMY!  Satan  is  the killer!  John
  14.           10:10  Luke 13:16
  15.           "The thief comes  to  steal,  kill  and destroy."
  16.  
  17. Sometimes people find their faith is hindered because they believe
  18. that God may have a reason or purpose in their sickness.. In order
  19. to be rid of all doubt and confusion, we need to clearly
  20. understand that sickness is not from God .. but from Satan.
  21.  
  22. Let's look at the Scriptures:
  23.  
  24.      Job 2:7   "So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord,
  25.                and SMOTE JOB WITH SORE BOILS FROM THE SOLE OF HIS
  26.                FOOT UNTO HIS CROWN."
  27.                Sickness came to Job directly from Satan!
  28.  
  29.      Luke 13:16 "And ought not this woman, being a daughter of
  30.                Abraham, WHOM SATAN HATH BOUND, lo, these 18 years,
  31.                be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
  32.                Satan had bound her with a spirit of infirmity
  33.                (Luke 13:11).
  34.  
  35.      Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy
  36.                Ghost and with power; who went about doing good,
  37.                and healing all that WERE OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL;
  38.                for God was with Him."
  39.                The sick people Jesus healed, had ALL BEEN
  40.                OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL!
  41.  
  42. If you believe God has a purpose in your sickness, you will not
  43. resist it.
  44. BUT WHEN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT SICKNESS IS OF SATAN, YOU WILL RESIST
  45. IT .(James 4:7), REBUKE IT (Luke 4:39), and REFUSE IT (John 5:9).
  46.  
  47. We need to "ringbark" the tree of sickness!
  48.  
  49. A tree that has been ringbarked will always die.  The leaves on
  50. the tree do not disappear immediately but eventually what has
  51. taken place in an "unseen" area, becomes visible!    It is the
  52. same with disease! Jesus gave us power and authority over all
  53. diseases (Luke 9:1, 10:1,9,19, Mark 16:17,18,20.)
  54.  
  55. When believers rebuke sickness and disease e in the Name of Jesus,
  56. it will die.
  57. The symptoms may not disappear instantly but, like the leaves on
  58. the tree, we know the sickness has been destroyed at the root, and
  59. the outward symptoms must disappear.
  60.  
  61. In Mark 11:12-15, Jesus rebuked a fig tree that bore no figs.  He
  62. spoke to the tree
  63. .. His disciples heard it.  He knew the life of the tree died at
  64. that moment and that the tree would wither.  The disciples were
  65. surprised next day but Jesus wasn't! Jesus expected the tree to
  66. die and wither.
  67.           JESUS TOLD THEM, "HAVE FAITH IN GOD" or "HAVE THE FAITH
  68.           OF GOD".
  69.  
  70. If you know that Satan brings disease; that a "spirit of
  71. infirmity" is the life of that sickness; then you can rebuke it in
  72. the Name of Jesus, commanding the "spirit of infirmity" to leave. 
  73. We can be sure that the disease is then dead.  We DO NOT DOUBT BUT
  74. BELIEVE THAT WHAT WE HAVE SAID SHALL COME TO PASS (Mark 11:23). 
  75. We know (because Hebrews 11:1 tells us that "NOW faith is the
  76. substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen",
  77. and Romans 10:17 says "So then FAITH COMETH by hearing and HEARING
  78. by the WORD OF GOD") the life of the sickness has gone (we have
  79. "ringbarked" the tree), and we continue in faith with praise and
  80. thanksgiving, giving glory to God that the outward symptoms are
  81. disappearing.  THE TRUTH OF THE WORD WILL OVERCOME THE "TRUTH" OF
  82. THE SYMPTOMS!
  83.  
  84.      JESUS IS THE DELIVERER!         SATAN IS THE OPPRESSOR!
  85.      JESUS IS THE HEALER! ....       SATAN IS THE KILLER!
  86.  
  87. HINDRANCES TO FAITH  "FIGHT the GOOD fight of FAITH"  1 Tim. 6:12
  88. 1)   Lack of knowledge of God's Word.  Romans 10:17
  89.      When we have put God's Word into our spirit, faith will
  90.      automatically be there.
  91. 2)   Mental assent is often substituted for faith.
  92.      You can mentally agree that the Bible is true but until you
  93.      ACT LIKE THE BIBLE IS TRUE, it will not become a reality in
  94.      your life.  James 1:22, Matt. 7:24
  95. 3)   An"unwillingness to cast ALL your care upon Him. 1 Peter 5:7
  96.      Give All Your cares to God - for we walk by faith and not by
  97.      sight 2 Cor. 5:7 When He has my cares, I don't have them!
  98.  
  99. HOW  TO RESIST SATAN'S ATTACKS
  100.  
  101. A)   DECIDE BY AN ACT OF YOUR WILL to stand on the Word.  Isaiah
  102.      1:19 "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of
  103.      the land.".
  104.      Be determined to obey the Word! You must have a strong
  105.      purpose to act and speak only in faith because God's Word is
  106.      true.
  107.  
  108. B)   BRING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE WORD. 2 Corinthians
  109.      10:5 Ephesians 4:27, James 4:7 BE SUBJECT TO GOD, otherwise
  110.      you will be subject to the pressure that Satan brings.  Don't
  111.      act on the fear and doubt that Satan pressures you to
  112.      receive.
  113.  
  114.      PATIENCE is persevering on the Word of God by an act and
  115.      decision of your will to stand on the Word of God.  IF GOD'S
  116.      WORD SAYS YOU HAVE THE ANSWER, DON'T LET THE DEVIL TAKE IT
  117.      FROM YOU.

  119.  
  120. C)   RESIST THE DEVIL.  James 4:7 We submit to God by being
  121.      obedient to His Word. Refuse to give any thought to unbelief
  122.      which the enemy tries to bring along. 
  123.  
  124.      Say (because you're a believer and a doer of the Word!)
  125.      "Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I resist you and I command you
  126.      to stop your manoeuvres against me and against the Word of
  127.      God.  I will not receive anything contrary to the Word of
  128.      God.  Flee from my presence.  I cast you down, in the Name of
  129.      Jesus."
  130.  
  131.      Speak to PAIN (Mark 11:23) and say "Pain, in the Name of
  132.      Jesus, I command you to pain in my body.  Go, in Jesus'
  133.      Name."
  134.  
  135.      At the first symptoms of sickness, take authority over it. 
  136.      We are told to meditate on God's Word ... not to worry or.
  137.      meditate on the words of the devil.
  138.  
  139. D)   GIVE YOUR TIME AND ATTENTION TO GOD'S WORD.  Proverbs 4:20-23
  140.      This is the secret to Divine success.  Keep your spirit full of God's
  141.      Word and don't let circumstances divert your attention.  The devil wants
  142.      you to concentrate on those things that say you don't have the answer
  143.      because he wants to make you feel defeated and discouraged.
  144.  
  145.      Give attention to God's Word and refuse to be drawn away ... then Satan
  146.      hasn't got a foothold.
  147.  
  148.
